Creating a Post-Purchase Survey

Lisa Fockens Updated by Lisa Fockens

Gathering customer feedback is crucial for any business, and a post-purchase survey is an excellent tool for this purpose. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create one using Wisepops.

Step 1: Designing Your Survey Popup

Start by creating your survey popup in Wisepops. You can either use the campaign assistant for a quick setup or design a custom survey that aligns with your brand. Ensure your survey is brief yet engaging to encourage maximum participation.

Step 2: Setting Up Display Rules

There are two methods to set up display rules for your post-purchase survey:

Method 1: Page Targeting

This method involves displaying the survey on a specific post-purchase URL. After finalizing your campaign, navigate to the 'Display rules' section. Here, select the URL or URL pattern that matches your site’s "Thank you" page. For instance, if your post-purchase URL includes "/thank-you", target this page by choosing the “URL Contains” condition.

Method 2: Advanced Targeting Based on Last Purchase Date

This method allows you to target visitors based on the date of their last purchase. The goal is to show the Post Purchase Survey when the last purchase date falls within a specific timeframe.

To do this, go to the campaign editor, click on 'Display rules', and then 'Advanced'. From here, you can configure your conditions in the 'Custom properties' section or 'Shopify properties' if you're using Shopify.

Here's how to set it up: Click on 'Add rule', type the name of your property (for example, "lastPurchaseDate"), and click on 'Add property'.

Now you can set up the conditions for your display scenario. For instance, you might want to show the popup if the last purchase date was between 7 and 30 days ago, asking customers about their recent purchase.

Step 3: Save and Publish

After you've set up your conditions, save and publish your campaign.

With these steps, you'll be able to effectively gather feedback from your customers about their recent purchases, helping you understand their needs better and improve your products or services accordingly.
