Enhance user engagement and sales conversion rates by displaying a campaign when a product is added to the cart in Shopify. This can be achieved seamlessly using our custom events feature. With our Shopify app, a custom event called 'product-added-to-cart' is automatically triggered when a user adds an item to their cart. Here's how to use this event to activate your campaign:
Please note: Custom events count as additional pageviews towards your monthly quota.
Setting up the Campaign Trigger
Configuring your campaign to display when the 'product-added-to-cart' event is triggered is simple. Follow these steps:
Navigate to your campaign display rules
From the Trigger tab
Select the trigger On Custom Event
Type
product-added-to-cart
in the text field
Optional: You can combine this trigger with other conditions for a more personalized experience. Such conditions might be based on the URL or various advanced Shopify properties.
Do not use this event with the advanced Shopify properties about the cart.
The custom properties are computed at page landing. When the custom event product-added-to-cart
is fired, the cart custom properties don't take into account the newly added product.
Troubleshooting
Are you experiencing issues displaying your campaign? If you installed our Shopify app prior to March 17, 2022, it's possible that you need to reinstall it to access this feature. Not to worry though, as we've made the reinstallation process a breeze:
Go to 'Settings' > 'Install Popups,' and click 'Install with Shopify'.
