Omnisend is an omnichannel marketing automation platform for growth-focused ecommerce businesses. Omnisend allows you to add several channels to the same automation workflow for seamless communication via email, SMS, web push notifications, and more.

Learn how to integrate Wisepops with Omnisend to sync your contacts and trigger Welcome automation

Setup process

1. Get your Omnisend API Key, by going to Store settings in your Profile menu > Integrations & API > API key > click Create API key

Once your API key is created, copy the long code and take it with you to Wisepops.

Now, go to Wisepops editor and click on the block with sign-up field:

Click on tab Sync and you will get displayed the options to select your Email marketing platform. Click on Omnisend:

You will now get the option to paste the API key you created in Omnisend > click Submit:

As the last step, you can add some additional tags that you want to be passed with the contacts that will be collected by this Wisepops form. This might be useful if you have multiple Wisepops Signup forms and want to know which exact form has been filled out by specific contact.

Save changes and done! Your integration is now complete.

What data is passed to Omnisend

Passing identifiers to Omnisend

When the integration with Omnisend is complete from the Wisepops side, your email/SMS subscribers will be added to Omnisend immediately. To pass email addresses or phone numbers to Omnisend, select the 'Sign-up' block (to pass emails) and 'Phone' block (to pass phones) and add them to your form.

If you want to collect both, select the 'Sign-up' block and add the 'Phone' field to it:

However, apart from the email address and phone number fields, you may also push your customers' data.

In the Wisepops form, you may choose to Merge the field with the default properties recorded to Omnisend or create Custom properties.

Merging default properties

Available default properties to merge with are:

  • City;
  • Region (we don't have this property in Omnisend);
  • Country;
  • Postal code (can't be mapped, because the field is called 'zip' and Omnisend accepts 'postalCode' only);
  • Gender (only 'm' and 'f' values are accepted, therefore you need to make sure customers select/enter 'm' and 'f' values only, the best option is to go with radio buttons input type and have 2 options to select from: 'm' and 'f');
  • State

Note! Also, Wisepops allows you to select 'phone number' property to merge with, but Omnisend uses 'phone' property, not 'phone number'. So, if you want to collect phone numbers under the default Omnisend property to be able to send them SMS messages later, select the 'Phone' field out of the default block fields, as it's shown above.

Custom properties

If you wish to add a custom property to the Wisepops field, simply start entering the name of the property.

Anything that can't be recorded to the default field in Omnisend should be passed as a custom property. With this option, you can ask your customers to provide any data that is not supported in Omnisend by default. Custom properties passed by Wiseops can take only string values and contain up to 2048 characters.
