Wondering how to add more input or hidden fields for list segmentation to your form? In this article, you’ll learn how to add more fields to your Wisepops campaign and how to create a multi-step form.

Add Additional fields

  1. To begin, add a Signup Form to your campaign. You can either create a form from scratch or use a template from our template library. Any campaign type (i.e., popup, flyout, or embed) can have multiple steps.

  1. From the campaign builder, click on your form and go to the "fields" tab
  1. On the left side menu, click on the (+) sign
  1. Choose the type of field you'd like to add from the dropdown menu
  1. Edit the form fields and rename each field in the left sidebar
  1. You also can re-order your fields with a simple drag-and-drop.

How to Create a Multi-Step Form

If your signup forms contain many fields, visitors may feel intimidated and not fill them out. By breaking your form into smaller steps, you make it easier for site visitors to convert into subscribers.

To do that, go to the Button tab and activate the multi-step form by pressing the toggle button:

How to add Hidden fields

Hidden form fields are exactly what they sound like — invisible fields users can’t see when they complete a form.

These fields won't be shown at all in your forms. This way, the form will be shorter and more concise, but the fields will be automatically populated.

You can manually populate the field with a value you specify or populate it with user attributes. User attributes are collected dynamically from the visitor's context and can provide you with a lot of data about your new lead.

Hidden Fields can be used for lots of things. For example:

Here's how to add a hidden field to your Wisepops form:

  1. Click on your form
  2. Click on the (+) sign to add a field
  3. Select "Hidden Field" and enter a name for the field
  4. Choose to populate the field with your custom value or with user attributes that we collect automatically (eg: country, traffic channel, etc.)
