Troubleshooting: Dealing with Ad Blockers and VPNs

Lisa Fockens Updated by Lisa Fockens

This guide is designed to help you understand how ad blockers and VPNs with integrated ad blockers can affect your ability to use Wisepops correctly, including logging into our application. We'll provide some troubleshooting suggestions to ensure an optimal experience with Wisepops.

Ad Blockers

Ad blockers are tools that can prevent unwanted ads from appearing on your screen while you browse the internet. However, these tools may inadvertently prevent Wisepops from working correctly, hindering your ability to log into our app.

How to Manage Ad Blockers

If you suspect an ad blocker is affecting your Wisepops experience, consider the following steps:

  1. Disable the Ad Blocker Temporarily: Try disabling your ad blocker temporarily to see if it resolves your issue with Wisepops. If the issue disappears, the ad blocker was likely the culprit.
  2. Whitelist Wisepops: Most ad blockers offer an option to whitelist certain websites. This means the ad blocker will not function on those specific sites. Consider adding Wisepops to your ad blocker's whitelist.

VPNs with Integrated Ad Blockers

Some VPN services come with built-in ad blockers. These can also interfere with the functionality of Wisepops and your ability to log into our app.

How to Handle VPNs with Integrated Ad Blockers

If you're using a VPN with an integrated ad blocker, here are a couple of options:

  1. Disable the Ad Blocking Feature: Some VPNs give you the option to disable their ad-blocking feature. Check your VPN settings to see if this is possible.
  2. Switch to a Different VPN: If disabling the ad blocker is not an option, consider switching to a VPN service that does not include an ad blocker.
