Marita Vargas Updated by Marita Vargas

Creating a seamless mobile experience for your audience is essential in today’s digital marketing landscape. One effective way to engage users is through the 2-tap SMS feature. This method simplifies the opt-in process for your marketing communications by pre-populating an SMS with a keyword when the user taps a link on their mobile device. This article will guide you through utilizing this feature using Wisepops, a powerful tool for creating pop-ups and banners on your website.

Understanding the 2-Tap SMS Feature

What is 2-Tap SMS?

2-Tap SMS simplifies the opt-in process for users. With just two taps, users can subscribe to receive SMS updates from your brand. This feature streamlines the traditional opt-in experience, making it quicker and more user-friendly.

How does it work?

When users click on a button on their mobile device, the system automatically opens the messaging app with a pre-populated opt-in keyword. This eliminates the need for users to manually type in keywords, reducing friction and increasing the likelihood of opt-ins.

Key Benefits of 2-Tap SMS:

1. Improved User Experience:

The 2-Tap SMS feature significantly enhances the user experience by simplifying the subscription process. With just two taps, users can seamlessly opt-in to receive valuable updates from your brand.

2. Higher Conversion Rates:

Reducing the steps required for users to opt in translates to higher conversion rates. The streamlined process encourages more users to subscribe, ultimately boosting your audience and potential customer base.

3. Enhanced Engagement:

By leveraging 2-Tap SMS, you can engage your audience more effectively. The quick and convenient opt-in process ensures that users are more likely to connect with your brand through SMS communication.

Create your link text CTA

Your CTA is the gateway to interaction. It should be compelling and clearly indicate what users can expect by clicking. You can opt for something enticing, like "Win $100 by Signing Up for Our Texts!" or “Get your rewards” This approach not only draws attention but also offers an incentive for taking action, significantly improving the likelihood of opt-ins.

The moment a visitor clicks your link, their messaging app opens with a pre-composed message ready to send. This message should resonate with your audience's interests and intentions. Aim to craft an opening message that reflects what they are looking for and encourages further interaction. For example, "Subscribe me to receive exclusive marketing updates and reminders from [Your Company]." This initial touchpoint is crucial for setting the tone of your communication.

Create your hyperlink

With your enticing CTA and thoughtful SMS message at the ready, the next step is to combine them into a clickable hyperlink.

Set up your link like this:

sms:+18664504185&body=Subscribe%20me%20to%20receive%20exclusive%20marketing%20updates%20and%20reminders%20from%20%5BYour%20Company%5D.

Just make sure to replace the number after “sms:” with your phone number and add your message copy after “body=”*

*To encode the body of your Default SMS, you can use this option: Go to https://extendsclass.com/url-encode.html, on the left side, write your message and you will get it encoded to the right side.
