Let's dive into the world of notifications using Wisepops. These smart little messages are a game-changer for engaging your website visitors without disrupting their experience. Whether you want to highlight special offers, announce new content, or collect visitor info, Wisepops has got you covered. Let's walk through the process of creating your first notification campaign!

Dashboard overview

When you land on the Notifications page in your Wisepops dashboard, you'll see options to Export Data, view Discounts, and check Integrations. The star of the show is the "Create Campaign" button in the top right corner.

Create new campaign

Click on "Create Campaign" to kick things off. You'll see a range of campaign types to choose from:

  • One click: Redirect visitors to a specific page with one click

  • Sign up: Grow your email list

  • Announce: Give visibility to your sales and new collections

  • Discount: Nudge your visitors to make a purchase with a discount

  • Welcome: Introduce your feed and build engagement

  • Loyalty: Let your customers check their loyalty status

If push notifications are activated on your account, you will also have the option to set up a push notification campaign. When the Shopify integration is activated, you will also see additional types of campaigns available.

Design your notification

After selecting a campaign type (let's say "Announce"), you'll enter the campaign builder. Here's where the magic happens:

Configure your notification teaser:

  • Image: Upload an eye-catching image for your notification

  • Alternative text: Add descriptive text for accessibility

  • Title: Create an attention-grabbing headline (e.g., "NEW DROP. Our latest collection is here πŸ‘š")

You'll see a live preview of your notification on the right side of the screen, showing you exactly how it'll look to your visitors.

Set up your message

Design the full message that appears when a visitor clicks on your teaser. This can include:

  • An image or gif to grab attention

  • Engaging text to convey your message

  • A clear Call-to-Action (CTA) to guide your visitors (Open URL) or Close the notification

If you're running an email collection campaign, you'll automatically get an email input field. You'll also have a "Success Message" step where you can thank your visitors and even offer a special discount if you'd like.

Define your audience

Add targeting rules to reach specific segments of your audience. This step is crucial for ensuring your message reaches the right people at the right time.

Persistent Notification Option:

There's a toggle to make your notification persistent. Here's what to consider:

  • Use it for broad, long-term messages you want all visitors to see consistently.

  • Avoid using it for contextual or page-specific content, as it might become irrelevant or annoying if shown repeatedly across different pages.

  • Consider turning it off for time-sensitive information or when you're testing different messaging strategies.

Set up Goal Tracking

Before publishing, you'll reach the Goal step. This is a crucial part of measuring your campaign's success:

  • Don't track goals: If you're running a simple awareness campaign, you might not need to track specific goals.

  • Add goal: You can create custom goals based on specific actions you want to track, such as placing an order or visiting a certain page, ...

Setting goals helps you measure the effectiveness of your campaigns. By tracking these metrics, you can see which notifications are driving the most conversions or desired actions, allowing you to refine your strategy over time.

If you're unsure about setting up goals initially, you can always come back and add them later as you get more familiar with your campaign performance.

Publishing your campaign

Time to launch! You can:

  • Name your campaign

  • Set a start time (including the option to publish immediately)

  • Set an end time (or choose "Never" for an ongoing campaign)

  • Select your timezone

Hit "Publish immediately" when you're ready to go live.

And there you have it! You're all set to create engaging onsite notifications with Wisepops. Remember, the key is to balance between ensuring important messages are seen and maintaining a smooth, context-appropriate user experience.

You can always come back to edit, pause, or stop your campaigns as needed.
