Sync your leads with Dotdigital

Welcome to our step-by-step guide on syncing your collected emails with Dotdigital via Wisepops.

Whether you're new to email marketing or a seasoned pro, syncing your email list is an important process to ensure seamless communication with your subscribers. In this guide, we will walk you through each step of the process to make it as easy as possible for you. Let's get started!

Connect your Dotdigital account

  1. In the lower left menu, click on your profile picture, and then click Settings.

  2. Click Access.


  3. Click API users.


  4. Click Add new API user.

  5. Enter a description (Eg. Wisepops) and set a secure password. You'll need to provide this password later, so keep it somewhere. Click Save.


  6. Log in to your Wisepops account.

  7. Open or create a popup with a sign-up form.

  8. Click your sign-up form.

  9. In the left menu, click Sync.

  10. Click the Dotdigital icon.

  11. In the new window, enter the following elements and click submit:
    • The API username is the email address of the API user (not your own email).

    • The API password of this API user.

  12. Select the list to which you want to send your new subscribers.

How fields are mapped

The following fields are mapped automatically to Attentive fields:

  • Email

  • Phone

  • First name (to FIRSTNAME)

  • Last name (to LASTNAME)

For the other fields, you can set the mappings in the Wisepops builder. In the Merge with dropdown, choose the Dotdigital data field that should be linked to your Wisepops field.

Marketing preference

When a visitor subscribes via Wisepops and provides their email address, they are synced with Dotdigital as subscribed to the email channel. Contacts who have unsubscribed in the past are resubscribed.

You can choose whether email double opt-in is required to confirm the subscription by enabling the option in the Wisepops SYNC settings of your form:
