How To Add a Video to a Popup?

Lisa Fockens Updated by Lisa Fockens

You can embed videos that are listed on YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion.

To do so, just open your popup in the Wisepops builder.

Select the Blocks tab in the left-hand menu. Then select the video block and drag and drop it on your popup.

In the left menu, paste your video's URL, as shown below:

Don't use the share link or embed link. Copy and paste the page URL where your video is.

Activate Autoplay

You can then choose to activate Autoplay. If autoplay is activated, the video will start playing automatically on desktops with the sound off.

YouTube Shorts

Wisepops supports YouTube Shorts URLs out of the box. Let's say that we want to display the Short in a popup, with no border, in the middle of the screen.

  1. Add the video block, with the Short URL. The size of the block is automatically adjusted.
  2. Make the video width fit the popup width, and remove the spacing.
Then in the Design section, remove the spacing:
  3. Finally, continue your customization as you would do with your other campaigns. For example, you can add rounded corners, shadow, blurred overlay, and a close icon:
