Set Up a Persistent Tab

This page is outdated. Please refer to the tab documentation.

You like the tab and so do your visitors, but you'd like it to appear on more than one page ... easy! Let's do it. Follow these steps to create a persistent tab.

Set up a persistent tab to display before your popup

By default, if you activate the tab to display before the popup, it is persistent. It will appear on all pages until your visitor clicks it or unless another popup is triggered.

Set up a persistent tab to display after your popup

If you activated the tab to display after your popup, the tab is not persistent by default. It will disappear once your visitor browses a new page.

If you want to make sure that the tab doesn't disappear once the user has viewed the popup, read on.

Note: this workaround only works if the popup associated with your tab is displayed on landing. You can check this on the Display page under Triggers.

Step 1: Create your popup

Create a popup.

Once you're done, select Tab in the left menu and check "Activate Tab" and "After the popup is displayed".

Then select "Display" in the left menu.

Under frequency select either "Every X" (e.g. 5 days) or "Every session".

Step 2: Create your 'tab popup'

Open your dashboard.

Duplicate your first popup.

Open this second (or duplicate) popup.

Select Tab in the left menu and activate the tab.

Check both "Before the popup is displayed" and "After the popup is displayed".

Then click on "Display" in the left menu.

In the Trigger section, select "On Landing". And add a 1 page view delay. You can see this in the image below.

Once you're done, click "Frequency".  Under "Show again", select "On every page".

Save and activate both campaigns - the original popup and the tab popup.

That's it! Now you have a persistent tab.
